35kg of drugs and weapons, including ammunition and explosives, found in South Cyprus

English Yus Polis conducted an operation in the village of Trahon (Kayakale) in Limassol, where about 35 kilograms of drugs of a type of Indian hemp plant were seized, as well as a pistol, ammunition and an explosive device.

According to Politis newspaper, Inglish Yus Polis, after reviewing the report, cooperated with the Narcotics Division of the Cyprus Police and raided a house in Kayakala where two brothers and 7 other people were arrested.

A working pistol, ammunition and some explosives were reportedly found in the house raided.

In another case, customs officials, during routine checks at the Larnaca postal yard, found 3 kilograms of drugs hidden between grain packs in a box shipped from Canada and declared as food and clothing.
