Americans who bought a house in Italy over the internet

How many of us sit at home and see a dreamy image of another country and start planning our future life there? And how many of us actually decide to go ahead and buyreal estate and plan a future life without ever visiting the place?
Michael Barrett may be the first. The Chicago resident spent much of last year, during quarantine, salivating over homes for sale in Italy. But instead of limiting his drooling to the area, he and his wife, Aida, went ahead and bought a house without ever seeing it. And, he says, buying property remotely made a lot more sense than what many non-residents of Italy do - come on vacation, fall in love, visit a few places and make an offer. In fact, in his opinion, it''nomads are not the best option'.
The first decision had been made.
