American investors are looking into real estate in the Algarve, Portugal.

Golf, nature, friendly communities, good food, and high rental yields are just a few reasons why the Algarve region has become a key destination for real estate investors.

A recent report on the resort real estate market in Portugal from the agency Confidencial Imobiliário confirms that the demand for resort homes in the Algarve is stronger than before and indicates that prices continue to rise. The report, published in October 2022, shows that the resort real estate market in Portugal grew by 20% in the first half of 2022 compared to the second half of 2021. The report also shows that in the Algarve, prices for resort homes increased by 21% in the second quarter of 2022.

While the Algarve has always been a popular destination for property purchases by British and other European buyers, the market is seeing a growing demand from a variety of nationalities, including American investors.

Ombria Resort, a luxury eco-friendly resort in the Algarve, confirms that over 40% of sales in Oriole Village - its latest phase of residential homes - are accounted for by US residents. João Richard Costa, the sales and marketing director of Ombria Resort, says: "Real estate has always been a reliable refuge for investors, and with global economic uncertainty, we are seeing an increasing demand for home purchases from US residents looking to diversify their investment portfolios. Serviced properties in eco-friendly resort communities with private gardens, pools, and access to 5-star services and amenities are particularly appealing, as such properties typically offer high rental yields and potential for value growth."
