ManpowerGroup questionnaire: Industries with the strongest prospects

Hiring expectations in Greece seem moderate for the second quarter of 2024, with an overall employment forecast at 6%, according to ManpowerGroup's latest employment survey.
According to the study, hiring expectations weakened 6% from the previous quarter and 2% from a year ago.
Specifically, of the 525 Greek employers, 30% expect an increase in hiring, 19% expect a decrease, and 47% report no change.
Hiring is expected to increase in 6 of 9 industries from April through June 2024, with two industries projecting a decrease and one industry projecting no change.
IT industry, the most competitive industry
According to the study, the information technology industry saw the most significant increase in hiring intentions, up 32% from the previous quarter and 37% from the second quarter of 2023.
In fact, this quarter represents the highest expected employment numbers ever recorded in the information technology industry since the first quarter of 2022.
Greece ranks first in the world for quarterly growth in the IT sector, exceeding the average quarterly growth in the industry by 33%.
This is followed by the communication services industry with a hiring intent rate of 25%, and the healthcare and life sciences sector at 17%, while the financial and real estate sectors show 12%.
Meanwhile, there is no hiring outlook in the energy and utilities sector.
