What's next after bringing downtown issues to the attention of a property owner?
the challenges faced by property owners and the businesses it represents.
"Let's do it, let's plant the flowers, let's get on with it. It's all lies," he said of the BIA's revitalization efforts.
But several people in the room countered him. "Everyone you're yelling at, we're on [your] side!" - shouted a man on camera. "You're yelling at an organization that only has $2 million. That's all they have!"
Farhi replied, "I'm not yelling." Amidst the frenzied noise, the same person can be heard calling out Farhi on what he would have done differently with the BIA's limited budget and authority. "I'd like to see your great plan, for $2 million dollars, to save the situation. You have that money and lots of it''more! Let's get started!"
In a statement to CTV News, Farhi wrote, "[Farhi Holdings Corporation] offered a series of recommendations to the city and its partners to focus their efforts on retaining and attracting commercial tenants, enhancing public safety, discouraging the proliferation of office space in suburban neighborhoods, and addressing the socioeconomic challenges experienced downtown.

The president of Downtown London, Barb Maly, said that no one from Farhi Holdings contacted her after the explosion. Maly explained that many of Farhi's statements about crime, homelessness and moving offices to the suburbs were outside the purview of her organization.
"Some of the things that were talked about on another day are not under our''control, but that doesn't detract from our significant progress during the year,' she explained.
London (Province of Ontario) Police Chief Ty Truong was nearby during Farhi's seizure, and Councillor Jerry Pribil (downtown business owner) and Councillor David Ferreira approached Farhi to calm the situation.
"I would like to see more dignity in dealing with each other," Ferreira told CTV reporters. "How do we work together? I don't want to fall into '\''against us'\''and '\''for us'\''because that's not very productive. "
Stevenson suggests municipal authorities should respond to Farha's calls about the state of London's major business districts.
"I think it's unfortunate when people point the finger at [Farhi] and use it in a''as an excuse for business not happening here in London,' Stevenson emphasized." "I think as a municipality, why haven't we partnered and supported it to find a way to do that? "
The council recognized the impact of the homelessness crisis on Downtown London by awarding a one-time grant of $1.16 million, which the BIA will use for additional cleaning, increased security and related needs.
Ferreira supported Downtown London's efforts, saying: "Given its budget and size, I think it's doing a terrific job, and the head of the organization (Maly) has my full confidence. "
