What's new on Max in December 2023.

In December, streaming platform Max will have a slew of new offerings for anyone who has decided to get away from the holiday season or just wants a break from the family.

In honor of the premiere of a new production of the play "Pomegranate Flowers" in theaters, Max is releasing the 1985 film version starring Whoopi Goldberg, Danny Glover and Oprah Winfrey (her first feature film role). The movie received 11 Academy Award nominations, including best film, best actress (Goldberg) and best supporting actress (Winfrey and Margaret Avery).

In conjunction with the premiere of the new adaptation of the play on Christmas Day, Max will release the original documentary "Oprah and the Journey to the World of 'Pomegranate Blossoms'" which will provide a behind-the-scenes dive into the making of the upcoming''movie.

And that's not all on Oprah! Every Sunday during the holidays, there will be a new movie on OWN, including "Christmas Symphony" (Dec. 3), "Christmas Yes" (Dec. 10), "Christmas Detective" (Dec. 17) and "Christmas Recall" (Dec. 24).
