ATLANTA – Legislation that will double the amount of paid parental leave for public employees has been passed by the GeorgiaHouse of Representatives.

House Bill 1010 was preliminarily approved by the House with a significant majority of 153 to 11 on Thursday, providing public employees with 240 hours, or six weeks, of paid parental leave after the birth, adoption, or foster care placement of a child.
