Additional funds for Paris under threat to normal operations
Yesterday was a full day at Foro Italico between the council and the Coney National Council. The main topic was money that is not there or not enough. Not only not enough for the Olympic expedition to Paris, but also for everyday life.
President Giovanni Malago reported the opinion of the Auditors of Accounts, "They told us, '\''you can't continue in this direction, the activity is jeopardized'\''\''...'". Auditor Alberto De Nigro says, "It should also be noted that the cost and revenue structure currently in place at Coney, with the exception of unusual deposits, does not allow for the planning of normal activities to maintain assets in compliance with regulations and to plan for institutional'the Organization's activities based on reliable resources'.
Coni receives 45 million euros annually for its activities, while the allocation of resources to sports organizations, federations and promotion bodies is made by the Ministry of Sport and Health, which uses the other 363 million from public funding (which represents 32 percent of tax revenues in sports in Italy). After this allocation of resources, which was approved by the 2018 Stability Law (originally it was 368 plus 40, then modified), Coni however regained its administrative autonomy, a goal persistently desired and supported in various ways by the IOC, with the realization that it would also lead to new''logistical and organizational costs, but also medal prizes).
In the meantime, Angelo Chito, president of Taekwondo, is sounding the alarm again, "I am concerned about the issue of military coaches and expressed my concern also meeting with the Minister of Sports Andrea Abodi. It is urgent to clarify the situation because we have coaches we can't use, we can't pay
