Drew Announces Release of Special Series Cup Privates 10 Years for International Markets (Update)

On its Freestyle Live webcast Wednesday night, Drew Estate announced a new version of its Liga Privada 10 Aniversario cigar that will be available in international markets. It is called the Liga Privada 10 Aniversario Selección de Mercado and features a criollo rosado seed wrapper grown in the Connecticut River Valley. The binder is a Mexican San Andrés Negro variety and the filler consists of tobaccos from Honduras and Nicaragua. This is a separate blend of ingredients that differs from the Liga Privada 10 Aniversario available in U.S. stores.

It is described as milder than the original version of the Liga Privada 10 Aniversario. The cigar will be available in a 6 x 52 toro vitola with a fishtail shaped head, the same vitola in which the Liga Privada 10 Aniversario is available in American stores.

The presentation of the cigar will take place in Istanbul on September 10, and it will be the first of several events that Jonathan Drew and Pedro Gomez will participate in, taking place before and after the InterTabac trade show. According to the schedule published by Drew Estate, there will also be events in Hungary, Romania and Bulgaria.

The Liga Privada 10 Aniversario Selección de Mercado will be offered in boxes of 10 cigars, but prices have not yet been announced.

The Liga Privada 10 Aniversario was first introduced in December 2018 and features a criollo seed wrapper from Connecticut, a binder from Mexico's San Andrés Otapan Negro Último Corte variety and filler tobaccos from Nicaragua and Pennsylvania.
