Jimmy Buffett and Emmy Lou Harris will perform Mozambique on a Bob Dylan album - invitation!
The new Jimmy Buffett album "Equal Strain on All Parts" still continues to delight fans of the musician.
In September, his estate announced the late singer-songwriter's latest album and unveiled three new songs - "Bubbles Up," "Like My Dog" and "My Gummie Just Kicked In," featuring Paul McCartney on bass.
The artist's legacy shared two new tracks Friday, including a cover of Bob Dylan's 1976 single "Mozambique" featuring Emmylou Harris. The song's playful mood is accompanied by acoustic guitar and drums.
The original version of Dylan, featuring Harris, was released after Mozambique gained independence from Portugal. However, this light song did not focus on colonization. Along with the release of Buffett's version of "Mozambique," Legacy also shared a video featuring behind-the-scenes footage showing Buffett and musician "Spanish Dancer" at age 76 recording the track in the studio, as well as footage of Buffett in a wetsuit holding his surfboard by the ocean.
In addition to "Mozambique," Legacy also unveiled the song "University of Bourbon Street," recorded with the Preservation Hall Jazz Band.
On Sept. 1, Buffett passed away at the age of 76 from Merkel cell carcinoma.
The album "Equal Strain on All Parts" will be released Nov. 3 on Mailboat Records and Sun Records and will feature additional collaborations with Angelique Kidjo, Lenny Gallant, Will Kimbro and others.
