Mr. Penklis filed a preliminary claim on his grandmother's property; however, it was withdrawn after negotiations on February 15, 2024, noted a representative. Penklis's lawyer, James Jordan, a partner at the law firm Jordan Djundja Lawyers, clarified that the case will still be heard in court. It is scheduled for a hearing in the Supreme Court on March 20.

Public Hospitality Group, which has over 20 properties in its portfolio, is facing cash flow issues while also burdened by significant debt and involved in numerous legal proceedings for many years.
