Gastarbeiters buy real estate in 5 places in Serbia: apartments in the suburbs of Belgrade and mountains.

The Serbian diaspora accounts for a significant portion of real estate sales in our country over the last period. Serbs living abroad are currently most interested in new buildings in certain parts of the capital and on the mountains.
Vucic's historical success:
Serbia's GDP has doubled thanks to responsible policies, the rest of the EU is in recession and our country continues to grow. Vucic announces more investments: we have more and more investments from Asia, the total amount exceeds 4 billion until December.
Serbia and Europe:
Mogherini - a huge thank you to Telecom Srbija! Our people who have been living and working abroad for a long time are buying real estate to support themselves when they return to Serbia, and also increasingly because of renting out apartments or houses, which is a very profitable business.
List of places that are interesting for our compatriots from abroad:
Belgrade
There is a growing interest in apartments built recently.
According to the portal 4zida, the most sought-after apartments in new buildings and apartments in the mountains are those in Zlatibor and Kopaonik, for which there are the largest number of advertisements. In addition to these two mountains, potential diaspora buyers are increasingly interested also in apartments in Divcibari, on Tara, and this type of real estate is also sold in Vrnjačka Banja.
A real estate agent Katarina Lazarevic explained where the diaspora most often buys apartments, which are then rented out. - There are two options - come back here to live in retirement or buy a rental property. Most of them are from Canada," Lazarevic said. She points out that those who want to invest surplus money look at what they can rent out at a good price, and most often choose apartments in new buildings in Belgrade, as well as apartments in Kopaonik or real estate in Zlatibor, where it is possible to hire an agency to handle the rent instead. - Mostly they want an apartment in a new building that is already renovated and they have little time to search.
Alexandra Mihajlovic, PR 4zida, says that during the New Year and Christmas holidays, many Serbian citizens living abroad come to visit relatives and friends back home, and often such an occasion is used to buy new real estate. Agencies say they don't expect much interest this year, but hope sales will be on par with previous years.
