This year's El Niño weather has wreaked havoc on Peru's blueberry crop, cutting supplies to the Americas by about half.
"Peru had an endless summer, and it affected blueberries," said Casey Cronquist, president of the Haibusha Blueberry Association of the United States and the North American Blueberry Association. "This is the first time in the history of this industry that we have experienced such a significant reduction in supply'''because of the way Peru has grown globally'.
