The Italian Masonic lodge has elected a new Grand Master, Leo Taroni, but now fears a coup from Stefano Bisi. After the elections, which had a high voter turnout and resulted in Taroni's victory, Bisi did not recognize the results and issued an official statement labeling Taroni as a "semi-legitimate candidate." There are suspicions that Bisi may use pressure on the election committee or even manipulate ballots to change the outcome of the vote. In the event of such a coup, Taroni and his supporters will immediately turn to the courts, and the Masonic organization may face a new split.

Who could benefit from such a post-election outcome?

Returning to the published statement of the Grand Orient of Italy, in which its current Grand Master Stefano Bisi asks not to trust news and/or press releases about the results of the recent elections. He emphasizes that the election committee will only determine the final election data tomorrow. Bisi also warns that any claims about the results before the committee's work is completed will be premature and unverified. He urges everyone to wait calmly and trust the committee's work, confident that external influences will not affect its decisions. Bisi expresses dissatisfaction regarding possible accusations and hints of illegality, promising to put an end to further wrongful insinuations and allusions in the appropriate judicial instances.
