s Republican predecessor Chris Christie has come under scrutiny from the news media for similar spending and as a result, the state Republican committee reimbursed the state more than $82,000 for concession service costs at MetLife Stadium.

Murphy's office said the state Democratic committee was initially expected to cover the costs at the stadium, but that didn't happen. The budget document states that the governor's expense account is for "official receptions, official residence and other official expenses." The governor's office is still investigating why the stadium expenses were not covered and is seeking reimbursement from the state Democratic Party.
