IHG signs deal for Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants' first hotel in Italy.
The Kimpton brand, part of IHG Hotels & Resorts, is being introduced in Italy for the first time as part of IHG's strategic investment in the luxury and lifestyle sector.
The new Kimpton Hotel in Taormina, Sicily, is being managed under an agreement with Società Turistica Alberghiera Taorminese. It is the first representation of the Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants brand in Italy. This move to open in Italy is part of IHG's strategy to invest in the luxury and lifestyle sector.
In total, six agreements have been opened and concluded for 2023, including the openings of Six Senses inRome, InterContinentalRome Ambasciatori Palace and Hotel Indigo Florence. In addition, two Hotel Indigo hotels are scheduled to open in Turin and Trieste in the coming years, as well as the first Vignette Collection property, Hotel Alexandra inRome.
The highly anticipated Kimpton in Sicily will offer 59 boutique rooms, a guest restaurant, breakfast in a private room and a terrace bar. Guests will also have access to an outdoor Mediterranean garden with a 20-meter-long swimming pool and tennis court.

The Kimpton brand continues its development in Europe, where it currently has eight hotels. Globally, Kimpton is present in 12 countries and has 78 hotels with a total of 13721 rooms. An additional 54 Kimpton-branded hotels are planned by 2025.
This month, IHG also entered into an agreement with Rakuten Group to provide an integrated booking service through the Rakuten Travel service.
