Cyprus: ending the resolution process on a federal basis is understandable

General Secretary of the National Union Party (NUP) Oguzan Hasipoglu emphasized that the statement of the General Secretariat of the National Security of the Republic of Turkey (NBT) strengthens the diplomatic strength of the TSCC. The statement said that "the double standards and activities of the UN Peacekeeping Force with regard to the sovereignty of the TSCC and the basic humanitarian needs of the CyproTurkish people are incompatible with the duty of neutrality and undermine its reputation; in this regard, it emphasizes the need to anchor the Peacekeeping Force's activities in the TSCC on a legal basis through a written agreement with the TSCC bodies and the importance of Turkey's continuing to' 'guaranteeing the security and tranquility of the CyproTurkish people within the framework of the rights arising from international law and treaties'.
