Clinical Center of Montenegro: Emergency Medical Center

The competition is seeking concept proposals for the creation of a district Emergency Center on an undeveloped 6,701 m² site next to the Brutalist Montenegro Clinical Center complex in Podgorica.

The project, supported by Montenegro's Ministry of Environment, Regional Planning and Urbanism, aims to increase the capacity of a historic hospital occupying a large waterfront site on the western outskirts of the country's capital.

According to the assignment, "The subject of the tender is the development of the conceptual architectural design of the Emergency Center in the complex of the Clinical Center of Montenegro on plot No.12." "Since the capacity of the existing Emergency Care Center,' 'announced a separate competition to transform the banks of the Moraca River into a new safe, comfortable and sustainable recreational area with better connections to the surrounding historic towns.

The jury members will include Vladan Stevovic, Chief State Architect at the Ministry of Environment, Regional Planning and Urbanism; Alessandro Armando, Associate Professor at Turin Polytechnic University; and Ljiljana Radulovic, Director of the Clinical Center of Montenegro.

The overall winner, who will be announced on November 7, will receive a grand prize of €33,000, as well as a second prize of €18,000, a third prize of €10,000, and three honorable mentions of €4,000 each.
