Logicor launches new logistics development in Pomezia, Roma

TheRome area continues to be a strategic region for logistics real estate development, and Logicor - a company that owns, manages and develops logistics properties in Europe - has begun work to develop a new logistics hub of approximately 24,000 square meters in Pomezia, province of Rome. "The construction of this new logistics hub in Rome," explained Graham Hepburn, Logicor's CEO in Italy, "is a great example of the success of our strategy to expand in key locations through the development of sustainable logistics real estate in places where our customers want to be and where they need to be. We are working on exciting new development and requalification projects in Italy that will strengthen our''real estate we manage'.

Project details

The new Logicor development project in Pomezia is scheduled to be completed by the end of 2024. It will be developed on an industrial plot of approximately 97,000 square meters owned by Mazer Fund, a closed-end real estate investment fund in which Logicor participates and managed by Kryalos SGR, and will be built to meet the needs of the client, one of the leading electronics distributors in Italy. The logistics hub will be located in a strategic area for the Rome territory: at the intersection of Via dei Castelli Romani and Via Laurentina, approximately 30 kilometers south of the center of Rome and 33 kilometers from Fiumicino Airport. In addition, the site is close to the main road network linking to the Grande Raccordo Anulare and A1-Autostrada del''Sole, which stretches across the entire Italian peninsula, allowing customers to efficiently distribute their goods to meet customer needs.

Attention to sustainability

The logistics hub in Pomezia, which will further strengthen Logicor's presence in the Rome region, will be BREEAM Very Good certified thanks to a 2.8 MW solar power plant and charging stations for cars and vans.

The planned green spaces, in addition to enhancing local biodiversity, will also be designed for use by employees working at the site. The project also includes the construction of a public parking lot. The investment is further confirmation of the importance of Pomezia in Logicor's strategy in''Italy. The company is already present in the territory with multiple assets and development projects for an existing portfolio of more than 200,000 square meters, and is also planning additional real estate developments in the region, which is one of the most promising segments in Italy. With assets of more than 2.6 million square meters in regions such as Lombardy, Veneto, Emilia-Romagna and Lazio, Logicor continues its growth strategy in Italy through the development and requalification of advanced logistics hubs in key cities for the distribution of goods.
