MasterChef: Stefano Callegaro vs Stritza la Novicias: Enough already

Stevano Callegaro of "MasterChef" can't take it anymore: the case caused by the program "Striscia la Notizia" has long ago ended in his favor in court.

Then why continue to comment on it? Years later, the court ruled in his favor in the case that was raised by "Striscia la Notizia". All the program's doubts that Callegaro was a professional chef turned out to be unfounded. So why are people still attacking him for this reason? Do these people really have nothing better to do with their lives?

For those who, like me, can no longer remember what they ate last night, let alone what happened in 2015, let's remember history.

Yes, this story took place on the fourth season of Italy's "MasterChef" which was hosted''in 2015 and won, actually, by Stefano Callegaro.

Don't ask us why, but at the time, Striscia la Notizia insisted that Callegaro was a professional chef before entering the competition. And by contract, only amateur chefs can participate in MasterChef.

After these allegations, Magnolia Spa, the company that produces "MasterChef," enlisted the help of a private accredited firm to find out if Callegaro actually had experience as a "paid chef for more than six months." As a result, they sued him, demanding the return of the prize money (€100,000) and the payment of more than €10,000 more as a fine for breach of contract.

Even then the arguments began: 'No, he is not guilty' and 'Yes, he is guilty', naturally by people who''did not know Callegaro personally and therefore could not know whether or not he was a professional chef. Don't ask us how these people found out about the alleged truth: maybe they relied on the use of a pendulum or used a tomato.

In the end, Judge Patrizio Gattari of the Seventh Civil Division of theMilan court put an end to the dispute, giving priority to Callegaro.

T Indeed, there was no evidence that Stefano Callegaro was not an amateur chef. Thus, the situation changed: Magnolia now had to pay Callegaro 10,000 euros as compensation for filing a "groundless lawsuit". To this amount was added another 13.4 thousand euros, which Magnolia had to pay back to Callegaro as''legal costs.

But that wasn't all, because perhaps taking advantage of the Magnolia case, the other nine former participants who lost to Callegaro decided to file a civil suit against him with the same allegations.

And here's where the court gave Callegaro a point: before participating in MasterChef, Callegaro worked as a real estate agent, laborer and sales agent, but never as a chef. His only restaurant-related job was when he worked as a promoter at Knorr, simply helping salespeople explain products. It's hard to consider that a person explaining how Knorr works could be a professional chef, otherwise by now I'd be calling you Redzepi, Ducas or Marchesi.

Now, years later and two cases won, Callegaro is still facing''with attacks on his social media accounts from users who don't seem to have a life of their own.

So through an Instagram post, Callegaro decided to make a BASTA statement: he is sick of receiving defamatory comments and explained in detail how the situation was resolved, inviting those who have any comments to discuss it in the comments, where he will reply to anyone who deserves a response.

In the video, Callegaro explained that years later he still receives inappropriate and unpleasant comments because of this "Striscia la Notizia" incident. Only in the case that the allegations were false have all the offenses disappeared. This means that his MasterChef victory is legitimate and he has every right to be proud of the title of the fourth Italian MasterChef.

Callegaro'. 'disclosed that these comments that keep coming in hurt him as a person, as a professional, and also hurt his work partners and the companies he works with. Callegaro reminds everyone that there are many articles on the Internet that explain in detail what happened. He doesn't even care to publish court documents, just so long as this situation is finally resolved. And he asks people to stop making inappropriate comments.

The comments are also full of words of support. Some asked why "Striscia la Notizia" doesn't pay for the damages caused, others urged him to file a complaint against those who defame him with these unfounded comments.

There is a video posted on Instagram in which Stefano Callegaro states'''Enough'' to the onslaught of assault.
