The Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan stated that the process of normalizing relations between Armenia and Turkey has been suspended.
Speaking at a joint press conference with his Austrian colleague in Vienna on July 18, Arat Mirzoyan expressed the opinion that this is simply a challenge posed by the electoral campaign and elections in Turkey.
“Now it is time to continue negotiations on normalization, and there are already very specific steps that both sides can take to ensure that we are on the right track and that things are moving towards a final, comprehensive, and thorough normalization of relations, the opening of the border between the two countries, and the establishment of diplomatic relations. Here, of course, I am primarily talking about opening the border between Armenia and Turkey for citizens of third countries, as well as for Armenian and Turkish citizens with diplomatic passports, and discussions are also underway regarding other projects,” said Mirzoyan.
