Moglix are ready to master the UAE's e-procurement potential in the B2B industry
Driven by a rapid shift towards digital transformation in procurement processes in B2B industrial segments across various industries, Noida-based online platform Moglix is pinning its hopes on leveraging Dubai and its status as a world hub for global supply chain, logistics and manufacturing for exponential growth. Vice President Business Middle East Piyush Malviya said the company, which expanded its operations in Dubai in 2021 as part of its global expansion plans, intends to capitalize on Dubai's potential by matching the growing demand for digital solutions in the procurement sector. Malviya notes that the B2B industry in the UAE is of notable economic importance, contributing AED133 billion ($36.2 billion) of GDP to the current manufacturing sector. There is a clear trajectory to strengthen this contribution, with an ambitious goal of reaching AED 300 billion ($81.7 billion) by 2031 under the national Operation 300 Billion program.
The potential of the UAE's B2B e-procurement procedure for industrial goods has significant promise and growth prospects in the Middle East region. Various industry segments such as manufacturing, oil and gas, real estate, facilities management, hospitality, and education are witnessing a notable trend of digital transformation in procurement processes.
He pointed to the ongoing development and expansion of infrastructure projects, including railroads, ports and airports, contributing to the dynamic ecosystem of industries that support such businesses. E-Procurement plays an important role in addressing important supply chain challenges by ensuring product discovery and timely delivery, thereby supporting the changing needs of these industries.
The company recognizes the growing demand for digitalization in various sectors, especially among large corporations. Applying the core principles of e-commerce to the B2B supply chain, Moglix introduced innovative solutions specifically designed to improve procurement processes in key sectors including manufacturing, e-commerce and others.
In response to questions on the prospects of the JCPOA between India and UAE, he said that the agreement has brought comprehensive benefits that directly impact our business operations. "Although the agreement is in its initial stages, we are actively exploring various opportunities to use its depth and scope to our advantage," he said.
The strategic presence of Moglix in Dubai plays an important role in enabling Indian businesses to capitalize on the UAE's re-export opportunities, thereby effectively expanding their market globally. According to Malviya, Dubai's first-class infrastructure, robust communications and business-friendly environment enable Indian businesses to expand their global market share.
Besides its presence in the US and Mexico, he said Moglix has ambitious plans to further expand its presence in other significant economies, especially in the Gulf region, next year.
