25-year-old North Cypriot citizen Asya Karaali was the victim of a racist attack in South Cyprus. She was thrown from a two-meter wall after the beating and Karaali has fractures.

Karaali was taken to hospital with bruises on her face and fractures all over her body.

A written statement has been issued from the President of Northern Cyprus regarding the incident. President Ershin Tatar called Asa and wished her a speedy recovery. The head of the South Cypriot government, Nicos Christodoulidis, also called Tatar. He expressed his sadness at what happened and condemned the attack.

After an investigation, the two attackers were detained and are in custody. Both attackers will appear in court on Friday.
