Napoli has losses of 283 million from unpaid rent on municipal properties, with well-known entrepreneurs among the debtors.

In the economic sphere of Naples, a very serious problem has arisen with debts related to the rental of urban properties, the amount of which exceeds283 million eurosThese data were made public during an investigation conducted by the Prosecutor's Office of the Court of Cassation of Campania, led by Prosecutor Antonio Giuseppone. As a result of this investigation, charges were brought.15 official notificationsto the heads and former heads of municipal services, as well as representatives of the company "Napoli Servizi," responsible for managing and optimizing the city's property fund. Initial estimates of the damage caused amount to about1 million eurosonly for the ten buildings that have already been inspected. However, in total, the debt for all commercial properties owned by the city is close to80 million euros.
In this category of real estate, you can find both office buildings of political parties and spaces used for religious activities. We remind you that the municipality of Naples is facing serious financial difficulties, and large sums of money allocated under the "Pact for Naples" depend on the effective management of real estate.

During inspections conducted by the local police in cooperation with the prosecutor's office, it was revealed that many tenants who ignored debt notifications from "Napoli Servizi" had actually gone bankrupt. Meanwhile, some premises were occupied by new tenants, including quite well-known entrepreneurs in the city, who had never paid the municipality. The prosecutor's office also noted the negative impact of this situation on the market: tenants who had not paid for a long time had an advantage over those who fulfilled their obligations diligently.
In November of last year, the prosecutor's office estimated that the non-payment of rent led to a loss.133 million eurosfor the city budget. During that period, notifications were also sent to a teacher from one of the Neapolitan schools and six other officials regarding the damage caused in the amount of92,349 eurosAccording to investigators, municipal employees are responsible for not paying attention to the prolonged delays in payment collection by the company "Napoli Servizi," which led to the accumulation of a massive debt. As a result of what happened, further consequences and important steps towards reforming the city's property management system can be expected.
