New luxury hotels to open in Greece in 2023
In Greece, several luxury hotels and resorts are expected to open in 2023, adding to existing accommodation options.
One of them is the Mandarin Oriental Costa Navarino resort. Mandarin Oriental is opening its first luxury resort in Greece this summer with the launch of a beach vacation at Costa Navarino, a unique destination in Messenia, in the southwest Peloponnese, where the emphasis is on ecology. The resort is situated on a hillside sloping down to the sandy coastline. Here, amidst idyllic scenery and the sea, guests will be accommodated in 99 suites and villas that combine luxurious tranquility with traditional Messenian style and 19th century Greek design elements, as well as the historical sites of the region. The resort will feature five different restaurants and bars seeking to honor local culture and redefine Greek traditions. The spa will combine the wellbeing influences of the Far East with the use of local flora. Guests will be able to swim in the 25-meter pool, kayak and water ski at the resort's beach club, and take advantage of Costa Navarino's extensive facilities, which include everything from yachting to golf. The resort is already accepting reservations for stays from mid-August.

Eliamos Villas Hotel & Spa Introduced now in May, this five-star resort of just 12 villas on private grounds offers a new luxury hideaway on the coast of Kefalonia. The hotel combines the comfort of a villa with the service and amenities of a luxury hotel, and is conveniently located above a secluded beach with easy access to the island's beaches, natural attractions and towns. The landscape inspired villas will have kitchens, outdoor dining areas, terraces and either Jacuzzis or saltwater pools. The complex will include a restaurant inspired by local farmers, a fitness center overlooking the sea and a spa offering massages, reflexology and aromatherapy. Guests will be able to go hiking, biking, jeep safaris, boat trips and astronomy in Mount Ainos National Park.

Domes Noruz Kassandra This month sees the opening of this luxury hotel in Halkidiki, the first Domes Resorts hotel in this region of northern Greece. Located on the Kassandra Peninsula, this 182-room hotel, dubbed the "beach club with rooms", is surrounded by sea views and lush greenery. The beach club, along with the pool, is the heart of the hotel, serving Greek seafood along with cocktails and wine from local Halkidiki wineries. The contemporary space, utilizing local art and finished in natural tones, also includes the Gustatio restaurant, raw bar, cocktail and champagne bar, and a beachside snack bar. The SOMA Spa offers signature treatments inspired by Greek wellbeing rituals.

Ikos Odisia The second Ikos resort on the island of Corfu, the sixth in total, Ikos Odisia will open this May in a secluded cove opposite its sister resort, Ikos Dassia.

Isla Brown Chania May will be the opening of the second property in the new Isla Brown collection of luxury resorts by Brown Hotels. Isla Brown Chania is located on the coast of northern Crete, 30 minutes from Chania and just 15 minutes from Chania International Airport, overlooking the Mediterranean Sea. The contemporary space with outdoor and indoor areas inspired by the surrounding nature features 148 rooms and suites, three restaurants, an outdoor bar and lounge, three swimming pools, a spa and wellness center. Rooms are decorated using natural materials in warm earth tones that blend with wood furnishings, green velvet and marble accents and gold details. A special feature of this hotel is its spacious outdoor terrace with a lounge area, pool and bar overlooking the sea.

One&Only Aesthesis, the first Greek resort in the One&Only collection, will open at the end of this summer on the so-called Athens Riviera in Glyfada, just 30 minutes from the center of Athens. This resort, designed in the spirit of the glamour of the 60s and 70s in Greece, occupies 1,600 meters of private coastline with a beach club that offers panoramic views of the Aegean Sea. All rooms, beach bungalows, and villas at the resort are decorated in coastal chic and feature open spaces, ranging from private terraces in the Aesthesis rooms to lush gardens at the villas with seaside pools. The resort's culinary concept is based on the flavors of the Athens Riviera, with dishes highlighting regional products. The hotel will also feature a spa offering programs aimed at enhancing guests' well-being. As part of the One Club, fitness activities will be offered, from cycling tours to water sports.

One&Only Kéa Island The second One&Only resort, which will open in Greece, will welcome guests on the island of Kéa, the closest island to Athens in the Cyclades archipelago. Private yachts and helicopters will transport guests between this resort and One&Only Aesthesis if they wish to visit both properties. This resort is also expected to open at the end of this summer and will occupy 65 hectares of beachfront land, with a design inspired by traditional Greek architecture and the rugged nature of the surrounding area. The resort will feature 75 villas, as well as a collection of private homes, and a 24-hour dining area focusing on organic seasonal ingredients, a Greek taverna, a beach club, a lounge, a pool bar with sea views, and a secret bar. This resort will serve as a base for exploring the landscapes, villages, and coves that define this island in the Cyclades archipelago.
