A mansion in the Spanish architecture style of the1920s, which belonged to Madonna, is up for sale for21 million dollars.
Records show that the seller is fashion designer Leon Max of Max Studio. According to Mansion Global, the Queen of Pop paid $5 million for the nine-bedroom, six-bathroom apartment in 1993 and sold it in 1996. During her ownership, the "Ray of Light" singer enlisted her brother, interior designer Christopher Ciccone, to design the property. "Who could I have more in common with than someone I grew up with?" - Madonna told AD during a 1991 tour of her Upper West Side apartment, also designed by Ciccone.
While this home unsurprisingly doesn't have a fax machine, it does have Moorish arches similar to those featured in the hallway of a Manhattan apartment. This spacious structure also features cassette ceilings, terra cotta tile floors, vintage tiles, hand-painted murals, and an antique wood paneled elevator.
The master bedroom offers two bathrooms with brightly colored tile flooring and a private windowed tower with panoramic city and mountain views. The second tower, accessible from the home's foyer, has an impressive wooden spiral staircase with a wrought iron railing. The spacious two-story living room features wainscoting on wood beams high above arched passageways, a corner fireplace and rows of French doors leading to a picturesque terrace.
Linda May of Linda May Properties of Carolwood and Brett Loehr of Carolwood are the selling agents.
