In Turkey, 53 thousand licensed real estate agencies are awaiting the implementation of the "Regulation on Amendments to the Regulation on Real Estate Trade" starting from October 31. Along with new responsibilities for online platforms involved in real estate sales, the Real Estate Committee of the Istanbul Chamber of Commerce continues to provide information to its members.

Associations representing businesses in the real estate sector gathered at a meeting organized by the Real Estate Committee of the Istanbul Chamber of Commerce to discuss this issue. The committee's vice chairman, Hakan Akdogan, stated that they value collective wisdom and continue to work while listening to the opinions of all industry participants.

Last year, 574 thousand couples got married, creating an economic movement of over 200 billion lira. The average cost of a wedding was 400 thousand lira, and the credit for those getting married was welcomed by industry representatives. According to data from the Turkish Statistical Institute, an average of 500 thousand people get married in Turkey each year. Last year, this number was 574,358. The largest expense when getting married is home furnishings. According to a market research conducted by the website Avantajix.com last year, the average cost of a wedding for each couple was 400 thousand lira.

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan announced that interest-free loans will be provided for weddings to newlyweds. This will help revive the furniture, textile, and dishware industries. The loan will be offered for 5 years with no interest, and the first 2 years will have no payments. It will be implemented in the earthquake zone as a pilot area. The furniture industry, one of the main expenses for weddings, expects a positive effect from the loan provision. Industry representatives shared their expectations regarding the loan with the Istanbul Chamber of Commerce. The Federation of Furniture Associations (MOSFED) stated that high inflation in Turkey and worldwide has slowed consumer demand in both domestic and foreign markets. This is why they greatly appreciate this support. They also expect that our banks will be encouraged to increase loan rates for furniture. An increase in payment options will also help accelerate demand and revive the industry.

The President of the Association of Dishware Manufacturers (ZÜCDER), Mesut Ekyüz, also expressed gratitude to the president for his support. As we all know, preparing and showcasing the dowry is an important part of our culture. Therefore, any support provided for purchasing dowry will have a positive impact on our industry. The Chairman of the Turkish Association of Home Textile and Bedding Manufacturers (TETSİAD), Hasan Hüseyin Bayram, considers the president's decision to provide loan support to newlyweds very positive and valuable. In the home textile industry, especially in towels, Turkey is one of the most important producers in the world. The production volume in this sector is about 13 billion dollars. Another area where newlyweds spend money is dishware. The market size of this industry is 12 billion dollars. Industry representatives hope that the provided support will help revive these three areas of newlywed spending. They shared their expectations regarding the loan with the Istanbul Chamber of Commerce.

The Committee on Information, Public Relations, and Media of the Istanbul Chamber of Commerce held a working meeting with social media agencies and content creators (influencers) at the Cemile Sultan Koru building. The open event was conducted by board member of the Istanbul Chamber of Commerce, Giyasettin Eyupkoca. He noted that social media plays an important role in marketing due to the growing influence of content creators on social media and said: "Social media has become one of the fastest and most effective ways for brands to reach consumers. We are gathered here to seek solutions to the problems faced by content creators on social media, who are among the most important participants in marketing at both local and global levels."

The Deputy Chairman of the Committee, Muharrem Ugurlu, emphasized the importance of industry associations, such as associations and professional unions, stating: "Organizations like associations and professional unions add value to the industry." At a working meeting, industry representatives pointed out that the unification of industry and professional organizations is insufficient and that it is important for their work to be accurately represented to advertisers. It was noted that one of the most effective ways to achieve this is through measurement and reporting, for which it is essential to measure parameters such as the actual number of subscribers and views, user behavior, etc. Participants also highlighted the need for promotion in the areas of education and certification to separate the industry from unqualified players and illegal activities. Representatives from social media agencies also noted that payment terms in the industry are too long, reaching up to 120 days, and that they face challenges as they pay content creators in advance. They also mentioned that there is still a demand in the content creation industry and that more educational programs and academies are needed for this.
