Last lottery winners will get apartments: contracts signed

The lucky owners of two apartments in Belgrade, who were selected in the last fifth round of the lottery "Take the Check and Win", Iva Rajičević and Mirjana Marković Pašić, signed contracts today and were handed the keys to the apartments. Iva Rajicevic from Belgrade became the owner of a three-room apartment in New Belgrade, given for a scanned check worth 140 dinars, while Mirjana Markovic Pašić, also from Belgrade, received a four-room apartment in New Belgrade for a bill of 929.97 dinars.
After signing'. 'contracts and handing over the keys to the owners, Mali said that in the second cycle of the lottery "Take a check and win", a total of ten apartments with a total value of almost 1.7 million euros were drawn. "What I think is much more important, we were able to further raise awareness among Serbian citizens that checks should be taken, and this is one of the ways to fight the shadow economy," Mali stressed. According to him, Serbian citizens, regardless of lotteries, should continue to take checks, because otherwise only the person who did not issue the check wins, while everyone else loses.
The Serbian Finance Minister announced that the state is preparing to continue the "Take a check and win" lottery in the spring, but could not expect that the checks sent so far will participate in this cycle or a completely new round will be opened. "Either way, we will continue with another lottery next year to fight this underground economy and bounced checks together," Mali concluded and wished the apartment winners many happy and enjoyable moments with family and friends in their new homes.
Till noon on Saturday, November 11, the deadline by which checks could be scanned to participate in this last fifth drawing of the second cycle of the lottery'' 'Take a Check and Win,' received a total of 285,798,140 checks with 1,050,426 orders. On average, about 804,000 checks were sent daily to the 'Take a Check and Win' game and the average size of each check was 1,046 dinars. The prize fund of this cycle of the "Take a Check and Win" game consisted of 10 apartments in Belgrade with a total value of almost 1.7 million euros. Two apartments were drawn every Saturday from October 14 to November 11 in five public drawings. All adult citizens living or staying in Serbia who scanned or manually entered the check codes before 12:00 noon on the day of the drawing were eligible to participate.
