Port officials unanimously recognize Stop as a municipality that intrigues the urban community.
The executive body of the Portuguese Chamber approved this Monday the listing of the Stop shopping center as a site of municipal interest, which legally implies the creation of a general protection zone 50 meters away from it. Arguing for the decision, they cite the Cultural Heritage Law, which requires the creation of such a protection zone.
Stop is a place where rehearsal studios and recording studios mainly function. On July 18, most of the spaces in the Stop were sealed, resulting in the eviction of nearly 500 artists and stores.
