The government of Brazil has established the House of Brazil for culture and economy in Lisbon.

The Brazilian government plans to create Casa Brasil in Lisbon - a space dedicated to promoting the culture and economy of the country. This was announced by representatives of Apex, Sebrae, Fiocruz, and Embratur on Monday. The presidents of Apex, Jorge Viana, Sebrae, Décio Lima, and the Brazilian ambassador to Portugal, Raimundo Carreiro Silva, made the announcement at the opening of the Internationalization Seminar taking place in the capital of Portugal as part of a technical mission of Brazilian entrepreneurs at Web Summit 2023.

The initiative is the result of collaboration between the Brazilian Agency for Foreign Trade (Apex), the Brazilian Support Service for Micro and Small Enterprises (Sebrae), the Oswaldo Cruz Foundation (Fiocruz), and the Brazilian Agency for the Promotion of International Tourism (Embratur). The Brazilian Ambassador to Portugal, Raimundo Carreiro, noted that the Portuguese government has already offered several real estate options for the Casa Brasil location. "We are working here in Lisbon to secure this space. The negotiations are progressing quite successfully," emphasized the diplomat.

In addition to the institutional space of Apex, Sebrae, Embratur, and Fiocruz, Casa Brasil will host all micro, small, medium, and large enterprises, startups, and incubators, and will also have an area dedicated to cultural exhibitions. "Portugal has all the conditions to be a gateway for Brazilian companies looking to enter the European market," emphasized Raimundo Carreiro.

For the president of Sebrae, Deceo Lima, this is a unique moment: "We can no longer be isolated in the economic model.

According to DeSio Lima, the growth results of Brazil's GDP in 2023, exceeding 3.2%, surprised everyone, especially with a positive balance of foreign trade. He also noted that more than 1.2 million new jobs were created by small businesses just this year. DeSio Lima added that innovation and sustainability have become integral values and practices, and it is no longer possible to think of a world where the environment and the search for new energy sources are not at the center of discussions. "The Amazon is a fundamental asset for sustaining life on our planet. Our entrepreneurship must have a vision of innovation, sustainability, and inclusion," he stated. Therefore, he believes that events like the Web Summit are important for networking and emphasizes that true agents of integration are entrepreneurs.
