Montenegro's prince and ambassador accused of forging celebrity titles and photos: put on trial.
June14, 2017 09:43
Brindisi - One imagined himself as "Prince Stefan of Montenegro and Macedonia," the other as his ambassador to Italy. They traveled in Mercedes with official flags and last summer, in the resort town of Fasano, met with businessmen, politicians and church representatives, displaying fake titles to offer cultural exchanges from the other side of the Adriatic and receive lodging in luxury accommodations.
In one word: farce. The whole thing was an absolute lie, publicized publicly on Facebook.
The end of this falsehood came after a real allegation of fraud was filed against both of them, which was discovered and identified by the Carabinieri after a report by the Ministry''foreign affairs.
K.S. and S.S. are charged with the following:
- subscribing to or making an official statement to a public officer about their own or others' identity or personal characteristics; possession and manufacture of false identification documents.
The former self-declared himself Royal Imperial Cernetichile Prince Stefan of Montenegro and Macedonia, the latter became his ambassador to Italy.
The investigation began in late August 2016, when the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Republic ofRome reported that such 'Stefan Cernetich' had used a Mercedes car with emblems of the Republic of Montenegro and stickers of the Foreign Service Corps during his recent visit to Puglia: how he''could have these titles if he was not a diplomatic representative of the Montenegrin Embassy in Italy?
The investigation conducted by the military revealed that the couple spent their vacation in one of the most famous resorts in the Fasano area between July 25 and July 31, 2016, where they met with representatives of the church, politics and business in the northern part of the province of Brindisi and the southern province of Bari. A Mercedes with flags was also spotted here.
"C.S. and his 'ambassador' organized an elaborate pantomime that through Internet sites and Facebook profiles, with the accreditation of a fake noble authority in all regions of Italy, businessmen, bishops, showbiz stars''and cultural figures, attracted by the granting of knighthoods, false diplomatic passports and alleged economic and cultural exchanges with Montenegro, aimed at obtaining residence and material benefits in prestigious places in Italy and Europe,' the Carabinieri explained in a statement.
The results of the investigation led to a search warrant, which was carried out by the Carabinieri in Brindisi with the support of colleagues from the Provincial Commands of Turin, Bergamo and Avellino. During the search seized seals, false diplomatic passes, diplomatic service stickers, documents on international awards of the Royal House of Montenegro, various diplomas. This confirms the charges against both.
"Both using'The Internet, were able to create a credible image before they started publishing photos with world-famous royals or during celebrity awards (such as a former lifeguard from a famous TV show)'" - reads at the end of the submission.
The end of the farce.
