It doesn't exactly add "reality" to real estate, but this Paradise Island ad plays quite successfully on the word "real" real estate.
Netflix's "Glass Onion" mystery movie, in the vein of "Who's the Killer?", examines a 10.5-hectare island in greece/">greece/">greece/">Greece consisting of several houses that was put up for sale on real estate website Zillow for a whopping $450 million (AU$651.3 million).
But sometimes things are too good to be true, and in this case, this eye-catching ad is actually an advertisement for a movie from Netflix. Apparently, it's something cute that gawkers at the ad stumble upon while they're sitting on the beach and fiddling with their phones in their spare time.
The fictitious multi-million dollar residence on the island of Pisceite is fictitious, and the movie was actually filmed in Greece at the Amanzoe Resort, and the Mansion Glass Onion was added using computer graphics.
According to its website, Villa 20 in Amanzoe is "a modern Acropolis with views of olive groves and the Aegean Sea on all sides."
Photos of the estate inside show the luxurious setting of the island commune.
The estate has a total area of 2700 square meters and includes 17 bedrooms and 22 bathrooms. It is located on the shores of the Aegean Sea and has breathtaking water views.
It's claimed to be a "private oasis on an island" created and designed by Alpha Industries founder Miles Bron, according to the ad. But Bron is actually a character played by Norton in the movie.
The movie is about Bron, a tech billionaire who invites his friends to vacation on his private Greek island. When someone turns up dead, Detective Benoit Blanc, played by Daniel Craig, is assigned to the case.
“Stylish architecture and exquisite design with equal attention to nature and luxury provide an unrivaled luxury living experience available only by boat and graced by the Glass Onion atrium,” the announcement adds.
The atrium is described as an architectural achievement adorning the main building with a ceiling 20 meters high.
The complex has seven private studio villas, each “inspired by a different chakra”.
The complex also includes six swimming pools, a state-of-the-art gym with personal training options, several unique gardens and entertainment areas.
“A sunken living room and huge dining room, perfect for hosting the most elaborate detective investigation-style parties,” the ad jokes.
The owners have carefully selected and commissioned a high-end art collection, including works by Banksy and Francis Bacon, as well as large-scale sculptures throughout.
Cabanas, pavilions and villas offer private pools with stunning views and luscious gardens, and speedboats await on the beach to hop over to nearby islands.
“Glass Onion” is the sequel to the original and critically acclaimed film ‘Who's the Killer?’ which was released in 2019 and is still available to watch on Netflix.
