Wage earners in this sector have increased regularly over the past 5 months. In February, when the earthquakes in Kahramanmarash province hit, the number of wage earners in the sector reached its lowest this year at 115,050.

After the earthquake, the number of employees in the sector had a fluctuating trend for two months and started to increase from April. The sector provided employment of 115,548 in April, 118,663 in May, 119,540 in June, 121,724 in July and reached an all-time high of 122,224 in August.

The earthquake affected 11 regions, where the number of workers in the sector increased by 7,174. Hakan Akdoğan, head of the Istanbul Chamber of Commerce's Real Estate Committee, said foreign real estate companies have also had an impact on employment growth.

5 in the list of foreign companies with capital in January-August this year. Akdogan emphasized that making real estate a popular profession that many university graduates choose has a positive impact on employment in the sector as young people work in fields such as land development, investment consultancy, property management, project marketing, etc. e.

Akdogan anticipates that branding will continue in the sector, as well as a change in the perspective of real estate agencies, and noted that "urban real estate markets in the country, where more than 3 million properties are sold annually, will always remain dynamic and will continue to develop".

Akdogan emphasized the need to overcome the "shadow economy" in the sector and the active work of control and supervisory bodies to prevent unfair competition.
