(©Chamber of Notaries of the Pyrenees-Orientals)According to the president of the Chamber of Notaries, this situation has several explanations. In particular, we can mention the difficulties in obtaining credit, inflation, as well as obstacles related to the climatic and environmental situation (climate and adaptability law with zero artificial land, the fight against energy "sieves", the implementation of new technical building passports, energy balance, rental authorization...).

Prices increase significantly in several cities

Inflation has indeed not escaped the Catalan real estate market. While it stands at the national level (-0.1%), the median price of older homes, the most''sold in the Pyrenees-Orientales now stands at 208,000 euros (+4.2%). And this is particularly strong in the following cities:

Rooms in the Pyrenees-Orientals: prices have risen rapidly in 10 years In the Pyrenees-Orientals, rooms account for about a third of apartment sales (including old and new housing markets).
