Salacious attack on a mosque in Greek Cyprus
The official North Cyprus News Agency (KKTC) Türk Ajansı Kıbrıs (TAK) and Romanian media reported that someone threw a Molotov cocktail at the Ibrahimag Köprülü Mosque in Limassol overnight, causing damage to the mosque's door and wall.
The Philenews website says the attack was carried out with a Molotov cocktail, while Antenna claims a catapult was thrown at the mosque, causing minor damage.
TAK reported that as a result of the attack caught on surveillance cameras, Romanian police have begun work to catch the perpetrators.
Some reports say the phrases "Migrant Islam is not welcome" were spray painted on the walls of the mosque before the attack.
CTC President Ersin Tatar condemned the attack on the mosque in a written statement.
"This attack is an arson attempt that cannot be explained by democracy and freedom of thought.
