SEG Solar and Grand Batang City have signed a land use agreement for the largest solar industrial park in Southeast Asia.

/PRNewswire/ -- On May 15, SEG Solar, one of the largest manufacturers of photovoltaic (PV) modules in the United States, together with Kawasan Industri Terpadu Batang (Grand Batang City), the largest state-owned industrial zone in Indonesia, held a signing ceremony for a Land Use Agreement. This agreement pertains to the development and operation of an industrial park for photovoltaic technologies in the Batang area on the island of Java. The park is expected to become the largest complex in Southeast Asia for the production and assembly of silicon ingots, chips, solar cells, and modules.

According to the master plan, the park will provide vertical integration of capacities, including5 GWfor the production of silicon chips,5 GWfor solar cells and5 GWfor modules.

As part of the first stage of the SEG project, plans are in place to build facilities with production capacity.5 GWfor solar cells and3 GWfor modules, with an expected completion date ofIn the second quarter of 2025The elements produced in this park will be supplied to global SEG module factories, ensuring traceability in the supply chain and guaranteeing the reliability and stability of the supply of key materials for the modules.
