Data on sales of old dwellings and their characteristics (area, number of rooms, type of rooms, etc.) are provided by notaries based on transactions completed during the quarter. The Notaires-Insee indices take into account the type of property (house or apartment) and the geographical area. They are then combined to obtain a national index.
