In one of France's wealthiest neighborhoods, in Cap d'Antibes on the Côte d'Antibes on the Côte d'Azur, a luxurious modern mansion will be offered for sale Nov. 1 at asking price. The sea-view villa called Domaine de la Belle Étoile is located between the five-star Hotel du Cap-Eden-Roc and the Porte de L'Olivette.

The gated complex comprises a modern villa and two guest houses, all overlooking the Mediterranean Sea. "Adding to its appeal is the estate's fascinating history," said Lars Christiansen, director of group sales for Caudwell, the real estatedeveloper. "From the 1930s to the 1970s, it served as the prestigious tennis club of the famous Hotel Le Provençal." Regular guests of the club were such notables as F. Scott and Zelda Fitzgerald, he added. Today, the restored former tennis club serves as one of the estate's guest houses, "preserving the estate's unique heritage and connection to its past," he said.

Now known as Villa Céleste, the two-bedroom guest house retains many original details and features a spacious kitchen and living room.

Another guest house, Villa Capella, was formerly a fisherman's cottage and has been converted into a one-bedroom villa with panoramic views of the estate and the bay, and a private garden surrounded by fig and citrus trees.

The centerpiece of the complex is the three-story main villa. It features a custom family kitchen, plenty of indoor and outdoor living spaces, and six bedrooms, including a 1,000-plus-square-foot master suite with two bathrooms, walk-in closets, and a private terrace. There are also plenty of amenities for living and entertaining, including an outdoor pool, gym, home theater, game room, yoga and Pilates area, treatment room, salon, sauna and ice room.

According to Savills, the Côte d'Azur, or Côte d'Azur, was recently ranked the world's number one second home destination. The real estate company evaluated 60 of the world's top secondary market vacation destinations based on their lifestyle and leisure offerings, luxury shopping and dining, four- and five-star hotels, and quality of life assessments, as well as the global reach and value of primary residential real estate. The Côte d'Azur, home to famous resort destinations such as Nice, Cannes and St. Tropez, was the "clear leader" across the board, the report said.
