Stellantis is producing the New Panda electric car for Serbia and Morocco.

Multinational company Stellantis Europe has registered the trademark "Pandina" to distinguish older models from the new crossover. Nevertheless, they are requesting a postponement of the introduction of the Euro 7 standard in order to continue production in Pomigliano.

Next year, on July 11, 2024, Fiat will unveil the new Nuova Panda, the first affordable electric crossover (costing less than 20 thousand euros) in the Stellantis group. It will compete with Chinese cars and electric city cars from European and American manufacturers. Most likely, depending on the outcome of negotiations with the Italian government on incentives and at the European level on the Euro 7 standard, the car will be produced in Serbia and then in Brazil and Morocco.

At least until 2026, the "old Panda", the best-selling car in Italy and successor to the compact car designed by Giorgetto Giugiaro in 1980, will be produced in the Pomigliano plant. To distinguish it from the new Panda crossover, the Italian version may be called "Pandina".

One is larger and more future-oriented, the other is original but smaller and fading into oblivion.

The future of Pandina depends on Brussels. The revision of the emissions regulations announced in September will delay the introduction of the Euro 7 standard by 24 months, i.e. from 2027. Stellantis CEO, Carlos Tavares, said, "The Panda represents a certain lifestyle and we could continue producing this model for longer, but it all depends on the Euro 7 debate." The Portuguese top executive also announced the production of the new Panda in several plants. Mirafiori and other Italian companies are still hoping for this.

6 On December 6, the Mimit automotive industry meeting convened by Minister Urso will also discuss this issue with the aim of restarting production in Italy at the level of one million cars, possibly with the Panda or Pandina.
