Last year, Exness CEO Petr Valov referred to Cyprus as the "Singapore of the Mediterranean" and a potential hub between Europe, Russia, and the Middle East while lobbying the government to simplify visa regulations for foreign employees. "We are glad that Cyprus has recognized the existence of the IT industry," Valov said in a video interview with Invest Cyprus in September 2021, adding that the island can attract companies and talent from around the world. According to the CEO, Exness earns money abroad and pays salaries in Cyprus, which positively impacts the local economy.

Attracting business in Limassol

Cyprus has long attracted foreign companies, but Limassol is going even further, as representatives from the city and professionals are urging the government to implement business-friendly policies more quickly. Yangos Zenonos, head of the real estate and property department at Exness, noted during a panel discussion at last year's 12th Nicosia Economic Congress the "difference between a headquarters and a headquarters with substance," pointing to the transfer of talent to Cyprus and its impact on other sectors of the economy. In 2021, Zenonos was mentioned in a study that highlighted hundreds of high-skilled and well-paid jobs in Cyprus that remained unfilled due to a lack of suitable candidates.
