Vazisubani Manor in Gurdjani Municipality - hotel from the Mischlen Guide

Georgia is home to, among other things, the oldest evidence of wine production in the world. And against the backdrop of 8,000 years of wine culture, Vazisubani Estate, founded in 1891, is a relative newcomer.

Nevertheless, the 19th-century splendor of this beautifully restored house gives its 19 rooms and suites a huge amount of character, which have been reimagined by a team of Georgian and British architects and designers, and furnished with a unique collection of antique Victorian furniture made in England. This creates an atmosphere quite unlike any other.

The house is surrounded by extensive parkland, perfect for a picnic at midday or a stroll in the afternoon.

And behind them are the vineyards responsible for producing the grapes that are turned into wine using the ancient Quévry method. These wines are naturally featured in the selection available in the hotel's restaurant, where Chef Keti Bakradze creates creative interpretations of traditional Georgian dishes in the classic farm-to-table style, using many ingredients grown right here on the estate. The result is an experience that shows a side of Georgia that visitors rarely see.
