Italy has 3 heart-shaped villages: where they are located - Immobiliare.it News

Italy has a total of 5,521 villages. It's no surprise that our country is known for its magical villages that enchant with their timeless charm. However, there is one feature that makes some of these villages even more special: their heart shape. Which villages are heart-shaped and where are they located?

Castelsaraceno (Basilicata)

In the province of Potenza, at an altitude of 916 meters above sea level, there is a small heart-shaped village. This is Castelsaraceno: with its 1,196 residents, the heart-shaped village in Basilicata attracts visitors not only with its unique shape but also with a variety of activities: a Shepherding Museum, trekking, and cycling. In July 2021, the heart-shaped village of Castelsaraceno opened the "Bridge between Two Parks," one of the longest Tibetan bridges in the world.

Ormea (Piedmont)

We are moving to the province of Cuneo to discover another heart-shaped village. This is Ormea, one of the main towns in the Upper Tanaro Valley, which many couples have chosen for their weddings in recent years. The streets of Ormea resemble Norwegian karuggi, with buildings in the Art Nouveau and Belle Époque styles, including the Grand Hotel and the former casino, built in the late 19th century, coinciding with the arrival of the railway, which is now closed and used exclusively during historical events.

Montemarano (Tuscany)

Tuscany also has its own little heart-shaped village: it's called Montemarano, and it's located in the province of Grosseto. This village, with its unique medieval style, was settled by ancient Romans. The village is centered around a 13th-century castle and its three fortress walls, and its heart shape, along with the charm of the recently restored medieval village, attracts tourists from all over the country every year, especially during the historical festival on April 25th with the traditional Dragon Game.
