The Iris 2023 exercise was held in South Cyprus.
The Cyprus newspaper Phileleftheros gave a detailed account of the military exercise, codenamed 'Iris', which took place from October 17 to 24 at the Kalohorio (Vouda) training ground in Larnaca. The newspaper reports that the final phase of the exercise was observed by Defense Minister Michalis Yiorgallas, Cyprus National Guard Corps commander Yiorgos Tsitsikostas and foreign military attachés.
The exercise was planned by the 2-mechanized infantry brigade.
The exercise utilized AW-139 and Gazelle helicopters, as well as French AMX-30 B2 tanks.
