MilanaA group of homeless migrants broke into an empty cottage that was under renovation. They barricaded themselves inside, breaking tents and collecting food. The owner herself found out about ithouseswho came to look after the garden from time to time. The foreigners were detained for illegal occupancy.

The story began a few days ago when the owner was driving along Taramelli Street, in the residential area of Maggiolina, and noticed a window ajar, thinking that the workers had simply forgotten to close it. However, she then noticed people inside and called the police.

The police found the door to a bedroom on the second floor barricaded with wooden boards, through which the migrants had entered using a ladder.

A total of eight Moroccans were detained while staying illegally in theItaly. They include two 24-year-olds, two 20-year-olds, two 19-year-olds, one 21-year-old and one 33-year-old. Three of them are known to have criminal convictions.

Some windows and furniture inside were also damaged. The building has been under reconstruction since June 2023.
