A property owner in Georgia is reclaiming his property after the police evict the tenants, all while caring for his sick wife.

Property owner Paul Collins stated that he is "relieved" by the developments. The Georgian, whose property was seized by suspected illegal occupants while he was caring for his sick wife, finally felt a sense of relief after local law enforcement responded to calls for the eviction of the suspects on Monday, according to a report.
The rightful property owner in DeKalb County, Paul Collins, told WSB-TV Atlanta reporters last week after at least three people moved into an empty house and even changed the locks. One of the illegitimate occupants presented a fake lease agreement on their phone and did not have a physical document to back it up, according to Collins.
“I’m disappointed, but I’m glad that I was able to resolve this issue,” he later told journalist Tom Regan, who was kept informed about the situation. Regan even stood on the doorstep in one instance and entered the house to confront the suspects. In one of the broadcasts, he asked questions to the illegal settlers, but they refused to answer.
In fact, Collins believes that the suspected illegal tenants created a fake lease after seeing an online ad for their property, and he does not believe their claims that they were deceived.
Collins said he doesn't like seeing a child involved in the situation, but he's glad it's over. According to a previous report, he inherited the property after his father passed away from cancer three years ago. He spent thousands on renovating the property before posting a rental ad online.
Several homes in the Atlanta area have been taken over by illegal occupants, creating costly problems for property owners who, under current law, are left with limited options for resolving the issue. Georgia lawmakers are currently considering a solution with the proposed bill HB 1017, the "Georgia Illegal Occupants Reform Act," which would make illegal occupancy a clear criminal offense.
The law was approved by the Georgian House last week and will be sent to the state Senate before possibly landing on the desk of Republican Governor Brian Kemp.
