You can buy a house in Italy for $1 and you have so many magical villages to choose from.
Real estate prices in Italy have been skyrocketing in recent years, and while some markets may experience a change in 2023, home prices will probably never drop to single digits unless you're ready to move to Italy. Although it will take a lot of effort, several cities in Italy are selling homes for the token price of $1, and that's one fact that has many people packing their bags! With a price like that, you may wonder where the catch is and how this is possible.
According to the Italian website Insardinia, the goal is to help young people who may have difficulty getting mortgages elsewhere, and to revitalize small towns and villages. The homes also require a lot of work, so the $1 price tag will end up being higher, but it's also a chance to make your Italian dream come true. One couple from the U.S. decided to buy such a home and told CNN about their renovation experience. Rubia Daniels from California also shared her experience of buying these mega-cheap homes with Travel + Leisure and told how she liked the hospitality so much that she bought three of them.
Anyone interested can find all the house listings on websites such as Case 1 Euro and 1 Euro Houses. FromTuscany to Sicily, houses are located all over the country and can be found in some magical little towns and villages. Here are a few regions of Italy where you can find a house for $1:
