Celebrity George Clooney denies selling his $107 million Lake Como villa - Here's what's known.
Hollywood star George Clooney has decided to keep his famous Lake Como villa despite rumors of a sale, according to media reports.
The Oleandra villa, located on the southwest shore of Lake Como, was purchased by Clooney in 2002. It's worth noting that George and his wife Amal had previously purchased the Domaine du Canadel estate in France, and there were rumors that they had decided to sell the villa on Lake Como. However, the star's representative denied the rumors, saying they were untrue.
The Oleandra villa, which has 25 rooms, tennis courts, a gym, a garage with retro motorcycles, a movie room, a swimming pool, a basketball court and two docks on the lake, is a popular destination for celebrity reunions. Throughout the ownership of the villa, it has been visited by such stars as Meghan Markle and Prince Harry, Jennifer Aniston and Matt Damon.
The value of the villa has increased significantly over the years and is now estimated to be worth more than 100 million dollars. It's no wonder Lake Como is a popular vacation and lodging destination for celebrities and billionaires.
George Clooney and his wife also own other properties including a villa in Los Angeles, a home on Sonning Eye Island on the Thames, an apartment in Manhattan and an estate in France. The sale of Clooney's villa, if it had gone through, could have been one of the biggest real estate deals among celebrities. Last year, only two deals surpassed the $100 million mark. So remaining the owner of this luxury villa is no doubt a wise decision for Clooney.
