Mexilhoeira Grande is a Portuguese village and parish in the municipality of Portimão, with an area of 88.41 km² and a population of 4,029 (2011). The population density is 45.6 inhabitants/km².

Mexilhoeira Grande is located north of Portimão. It is a rural village with white houses lined along narrow streets, where the main occupations of the inhabitants are traditional crafts and agriculture.

This parish is also home to the Algarve International Circuit. It is located in the countryside, about 6 km north of the center of the parish. Access is via the EN125 bypass road. It is served by the Algarve Line station.

Mexilhoeira Grande is a fairly old settlement, which may date back to the Neolithic and Eneolithic settlements of Monte Canelas and Alcalar.

The parish dates back to the 16th century, when the present parish church was built. Around 1446 it must already have been a settlement of some importance, since, according to the chronicler Gomes de Zurara, the Infante D. Enrique was here at that date.
