Moving to Spain: A new chapter in my life

In November 2022, I started preparing to move to Spain after living for 15 years in the city of Mogilev, Belarus. My life was connected to working in a cosmetics company, where I enjoyed the freedom and joy of being self-employed. I always had a circle of friends, but in 2021, one of my clients recommended me to employers in Mallorca. Her acquaintance said they needed a responsible, cool, and positive woman – just like me. I decided to take this opportunity, as every chance matters to me. This became not only a chance to work abroad but also to understand myself better by learning a new language.

Preparation of documents and obstacles in the way

The process of preparing the documents took a lot of time. At first, everything went smoothly, but then external factors, such as the pandemic and the political situation, affected the course of events. The construction of the employers' house slowed down, and it was only in July 2022 that they completed it. By that time, my visa was almost expired, and I had to get a new one. In August 2022, I faced issues with scheduling an appointment at the consulate online and sought help from a travel agency. It turned out that the payment of $180 was not for document preparation, but for the appointment itself. The employers covered these expenses. A week later, I received my passport with the new visa and headed to Spain.

Blessing of delay and successful adaptation

A small delay in Belarus turned out to be a blessing. During the time spent at home, I developed new internal questions and psychological barriers that I was able to overcome. Upon arriving in Mallorca, I felt balanced and ready for change. This became the key to successful adaptation: at a mature age, changes require a careful approach. After all, I'm no longer in my twenties, and drastic changes can be concerning, but they can be overcome with wisdom and experience.

When I was almost 52 years old

I decided that it was time for a change in my life. I left Belarus and moved to the Spanish coast because the place where I lived no longer suited me. My first job in Spain was with a Polish family, and I didn't have the opportunity to immerse myself in Spanish culture. However, thanks to the renovations in my house, I started interacting with many workers of different nationalities, such as Spaniards, Poles, and Ukrainians. I enjoyed this communication, as I believe that engaging with different cultures and people is very interesting.

In your spare time on weekends

I'm going out to explore the city and study Spanish. To improve my language skills, I found an online tutor with whom I study for 5 euros an hour. I really enjoy the Spanish language and the locals: they are positive, open, and sunny, and I love being around such people.

A trip to the town of Andraix on the island of Mallorca

During one of our trips, we visited the town of Andratx on the island of Mallorca, where I heard a lot of Russian being spoken. It seems that many Russian speakers are buying property here, as housing is cheaper than in the capital, and it's only a 40-minute drive to the city of Palma de Mallorca.

Getting around the island

While I don't have a car yet, I get around the island by bus. I work weekdays and can only and can only travel on weekends, so I'm very limited in my ability to visit new places. My impressions of the surrounding towns are cozy, small and very beautiful. Each house is unique and has its own atmosphere.

Impression of Palma de Mallorca

Palma de Mallorca, the capital of the island, made a strong impression on me. The city turned out to be impressive, and I felt the need to express my feelings. Along my way, I encountered smiling, friendly locals, and interacting with them brought me a lot of positive emotions. I also like the lifestyle and well-groomed appearance of the Spaniards.

Result

Thus, my new life on the Spanish coast brings a huge variety to my daily routine. Through interacting with different people, learning the language, and visiting various places, I am starting to feel comfortable in my new surroundings.

I find joy in interacting with people from other countries; it's like a journey into a new world of knowledge.

Technologies to the rescue

Even without language skills, modern technology can help solve some problems. With the help of online translators and kind people, one can gradually acclimate to a new environment, as if starting life anew.

Positive attitude and mutual assistance

"I'm not stupid, I'll learn" is my motto that helps me overcome the difficulties of moving. Moving to a new country is a huge stress, but thanks to positive people and willingness to help, this process becomes easier and more interesting. becomes easier and more fun.

Living conditions and housing

One should not forget about the cost of housing. Living on the employer's premises means comfortable accommodation and good meals at their expense. For me, these are the best living conditions. Although my work contract is for three years, I dream of legalizing my status in this country, having already left my mark in Warsaw.

Financial questions

Spain can become a hub of financial opportunities, but it's important to keep in mind the costs. Renting a home can be expensive, especially if it's in Mallorca. For example, a friend of mine who moved to Mallorca 20 years ago pays €500 for a one-bedroom apartment, which totals around €1200 a month with utilities.

Prices for services and goods in Spain

Service prices: a bus ride costs €2, and a taxi from the airport to home costs €30. A mobile phone plan with internet will cost €20 per month. Personal care products and cosmetics require monthly expenses starting from €10.

Conclusion

To sum up, moving to a new country requires patience, adaptation, and effort. It's important to maintain a positive attitude and a willingness to learn. With the support of those around you and proper planning, this experience can become valuable and interesting. Join the Telegram channel to learn more about moving and investments!

Grooming

For me, self-care and my appearance play a key role in my life, so I don't think it's worth skimping on this aspect. I enjoy creating unique gel nail designs and doing pedicures with extensions, which gives them a special look and style. Maintaining these procedures costs me €70, but I consider it an investment in myself.

To live decently and cover basic expenses such as rent, food, utilities, and minimal costs for clothing and cosmetics, it turns out you need to have around €2,500 per month.

Dental treatment

Constantly paying attention to the condition of my teeth is an integral part of my routine. Annual visits to the dentist for plaque removal and possible filling replacements have become a tradition for me. Even before my trip to Spain, I took the step to check my oral health. Unfortunately, an accident occurred with a dental implant that chipped while I was coughing on nuts, forcing me to seek help from local specialists. I was pleasantly surprised by the level of service at the clinic, and although the doctor and I used Google Translate to communicate, the results of the work, the restoration of the tooth, and the installation of a new filling cost me €388, while the cleaning of the teeth from plaque was €200.

Medical insurance

Health insurance obtained in Belarus is only valid for serious cases outside the country. Realizing this, I decided to approach my employers with a request to purchase an insurance policy that would cover all potential medical expenses. Without such insurance, I would have to return to Belarus for treatment.

Professional development

Career development for me is about moving forward. Recently, I have started to delve deeper into baking and actively improve my English. I plan to immerse myself in the Spanish language and refresh my driving skills. I have a lot of hobbies, including writing, cooking, and cosmetics. I'm even considering the possibility of conducting online makeup courses if needed.

### Conclusion

Upon arriving in Spain in the fall of 2022, I faced a number of challenges, from the paperwork to adjusting to my new life in Mallorca. paperwork to adjusting to my new life in Mallorca. Despite all the challenges, the move has become not just a job, but an opportunity for me to immerse myself more deeply in Spanish culture and language. It was a time of of self-discovery and understanding my capabilities as a mature adult.

Here I found joy in communicating with different people and I learn something new every day. Spain welcomed me with open arms, and I am glad that I was able to settle in here, despite some initial difficulties. Discovering...
