October 29: Republic Day at KCTCS - ceremonies and activities
The Republic of Turkey, declared by Ulya Önder Mustafa Kemal Ataturk on October 29, 1923 after winning the War of Liberation, is celebrating its 100th anniversary. The 100th anniversary of the Republic of Turkey will also be celebrated in the Northern Cyprus Turkish Republic through ceremonies and events.
The celebrations for the 100th anniversary of Republic Day will begin with a speech by Turkish Republic Ambassador to Lefkoş Metin Feyzioglu on BRT at 1:00 p.m. and 21-shots to mark the occasion. In honor of the 100th anniversary of Republic Day, a reception will be held at the Embassy of the Republic of Turkey in Lefkoş tomorrow at 19:00. The 100th anniversary of the Republic of Turkey will be celebrated with enthusiasm in the capital Lefkoşa and other districts and neighborhoods of KTTS.
In Lefkoş on October 29, Republic Day will be celebrated with''with a solemn ceremony at the Ataturk Monument. The program announced by the National Day Celebration Committee states that the ceremony will begin at 9:30 with the laying of wreaths at the memorial.
In Gazimaguz, the Republic Day ceremony will be marked by two separate events: the first ceremony will be held at the Victory Monument at 1:00 p.m., where wreaths will be laid; the second ceremony will be held at Namik Kemal Square at 1:30 p.m.
The Republic Day celebration on October 29 will also be held in Girne at Ataturk''09:30. The ceremony will include the laying of wreaths, bowing and the singing of the Istiqlal March. The program will also include speeches about the main and import significance of the day, as well as poems. The ceremony will conclude with folk dances and a concert by an orchestra.
In Iskel, at 10:45 a.m., a wreath-laying ceremony will be held at the Atatürk Monument in Ecevit Square, followed by speeches about the main and import significance of this day, poems and dance performances.
